On the last weekend of April 2015, there was a tournament held in the city Linz in Austria. This is probably the second biggest tournament in Austria after the Vienna IGT. 29 people were playing in the tournament. The atmosphere there was very friendly, Zhao Baolong 2p was giving commentaries for those who wished. There was also food right at the playing place for the participants. As for the results, the Slovak team was very successful, we brought home 10 wins. Both, me and my girlfriend scored 5 out of 5. We went home with a good feeling and ready for the next tournament!

The 1st European MLily Qualification tournament will start on this friday and finish on saturday. Five european professionals will fight for two places to qualify for the starting field of 64 world class players at the MLily cup. MLily offers two seats to Europe for their competition, round 2, planned for 7th July 2015 in China.
The tournament system is round robin (always with one player pausing), 70 minutes each and Canadian Byoyomi 15 moves - 5 minutes.
In case of 3 players defeating each other in a circle, fast games will be played on saturday evening to decide the winner(s). If the result is not decided by this, lottery will be used. In any other case, lottery will be used as well.
I will try to put results here after I finish my games.

More info here

The tournament was prepared very well by the organisation team from Andalusian Go Association, 2 nice go boards outside in a nice weather with a broadcasting on KGS (under EGFMLily1 & EGFMLily2). One player, Ilya Shikshin 1p was already qualified after round 4, the other player to qualify was decided between me and Alexandre Dinerstein, 3p with a direct game. The game was good for me all the time, until I started to play risky moves for some reason. I was still leading the game, but I missed a simple "throw-in" in byo-yomi and my big dragon died, after that, the game was over and I was forced to resign. Alexandre knew the game is not over until it is over more than me. So in the end 2 Russian players qualified for the MLily Cup this year: Alexandre Dinerstein 3p & Ilya Shikshin 1p. I wish them good luck in July and I really think they have a decent chance to win something there.
Noone finished the tournament with all losses, I had 2 wins, Ali Jabarin 1p and Mateusz Surma 1p had 1 win.

The first European Go Grand Slam tournament was held in Berlin, from 3rd to 6th of april 2015 This was the first professional tournament in Europe, there is now one grand slam tournament per year. The goal of EGF is to find more sponsors for organising grand slam tournaments, until 2022 EGF wants to help organising 4 grand slam tournaments per year.

This was my tournament number 200, I was hoping to qualify for top 4, but I didn't. I was stopped in the quarterfinal by Cristian Pop, 7 dan. I had a good position, but being ahead is not enough to win a game. I commented all my 3 games from this tournament, they are in My games.
